Shriranga

“Shriranga” A renovation project, where in client approached us for a quick facelift of the existing building. The building had two, three bedroom dwelling units stacked on above the other, with the common external staircase. The load bearing structure with its small compartments posed a real challenge in terms of overall design feasibility. 

The entire plan opened up by demolishing all the non-essential walls, with temporary support to the slab. Slab was cut opened in strategic location to establish the internal vertical connection with the skylight above. Room bays has been reshuffled so as to make it vastu compliant and to get a larger workable room sizes. Internal staircase has been introduced by converting the exiting toilet bays.

The façade has been detailed with exposed concrete walls which was brutal, punctuated with terracotta jalis inside metal frame. The series of planters dispersed across the façade bringing in a right visual balance.
